In Chettinad, doorways to the gods are never plain. This panel imagines one such doorway: Lord Murugan standing tall in a temple-style arch, framed by carved pillars, peacocks and floral scrollwork, holding his vel in blessing. Our workshop in Madurai shapes it from solid Burma teak, the same wood used for the pillars and doors of old Chettinad mansions, chiselled by hand until the grain itself seems to glow.
Bring it home for a puja room, a hallway, or anywhere you want a quiet sense of the sacred.
Size: 670 x 420 x 60 mm (H x W x D)
A note on handmade work
Every piece is carved by hand. Poses, floral motifs, colour and the natural grain of the wood shift a little from one piece to the next. That variation is the point, not a flaw.
