Hi, I’m Ilangovan. I began as a photographer, drawn to temple architectures, traditions, festivals, and the small details that are unique. Over the years, I documented murals, temple cars, festivals, and sacred architecture - always with a sense of wonder and respect.

I didn’t plan to start something like Chithiramaadam. But slowly, it felt like the photographs and stories weren’t enough. I wanted people to live with these traditions - not just see them, but feel them in their homes, in their everyday surroundings.

My journey also includes writing, natural farming, and exploring heritage through travel and education. Somewhere in between, the idea of bringing together traditional craft, natural materials, and thoughtful design began to grow. Chithiramaadam is that space - a place where memory becomes material.

This is not just a business. It’s a way of continuing what I’ve always done - preserving and celebrating what matters, one piece at a time.
